Some contextual elements

  • After more than two years of work, the almost total renovation of Toxalim, Inra's Reseach Centre in Food Toxicology, has achieved its objectives: increase Toxalim's scientific visibility by acquiring completely renovated and efficient research premises, innovative equipment and high technology platforms with the help of the State, local authorities and Europe.
  • Toxalim received a total funding of € 4.364 million under the State-Region Project Contract 2007-2013 with a 20.62% share of Inra, 47.23% from the Midi-Pyrénées Region, 11.53% of ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and 20.62% of Toulouse Metropole.
  • This funding enabled the rehabilitation of 4000m² premises including the creation of 600 m2 of laboratories and offices from unused surfaces and the purchase of equipment such as a mass spectrometer for metabolomics analysis, a confocal microscope (optical microscope that produces images of very low field depths) for cellular imaging and instruments to identify and quantify gene expression.
