Nanoparticules : the european project npSCOPE just launched

The kick-off meeting of the npSCOPE European project was held on January 17-18, 2017, at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST)

The European project npSCOPE   "the nanoparticle-scope, a new integrated instrument for accurate and reproducible physico-chemical characterization of nanoparticles",  funded by the EC framework programme Horizon 2020, has been officialy lauched at the kick-off meeting held on January 17-18, 2017 in Luxembourg.

  • During these two days, representatives of the nine project partners, from prestigious research centers, universities and European companies, met to discuss and launch the various R & D activities of the npSCOPE  project.

  • npSCOPE aims to develop a new integrated instrument, optimized to provide complete physicochemical characterization of nanoparticles in both their primitive form and incorporated into complex matrices such as biological tissues. In addition to being the project coordinator, LIST will also be responsible for designing, manufacturing and evaluating the instrument dedicated to the characterization of nanoparticles.
  • The results of the project will be applied mainly to nano-toxicology activities, including studies on the toxicity of nanoparticles absorbed by the human body by oral (nanoparticles in food), respiratory and cutaneous routes. The npSCOPE instrument will also have other applications ranging from the semiconductor and battery industries to the life sciences.

Three teams from TOXALIM / Research Center in Food Toxicology - INRA / University of Toulouse /  E11-DIXIT - E08-GS - E09-PPCA, coordinated by Eric Houdeau (Research Director, INRA), are partners of the npSCOPE project.
